This announcement is to inform Dr. Jivesh Sharma’s patients that he will be departing Verdi Cancer & Research Center of Texas, effective December 31, 2022. Dr. Sharma has decided to take a sabbatical from his clinical practice so that he can pursue an opportunity to lead a team of genetic cancer experts who are creating targeted gene therapies.
We are thankful to Dr. Sharma for his commitment to clinical excellence and look forward to seeing his continued contributions to the future of oncology. Despite his departure, Verdi Cancer and Research Center of Texas remains committed to the delivery of exceptional patient care that patients have come to expect from our practice.
What to Expect
Dr. Sharma’s patients will be transitioned to Dr. H. Alejandro Preti, an expert clinician who has long served our patients with clinical expertise, research leadership, and compassionate care. Dr. Preti is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He has been decorated with honors and awards throughout his career, including selection as one of the Best Doctors in America in 2007-2008 and again in 2011-2012. He was also named one of America’s Top Oncologists in 2009. Rest assured that you will be in excellent hands with Dr. Preti.

If you choose to transfer care, we will forward a copy of your medical records to the physician or practice of your choice. Your original records will be retained at Verdi Cancer & Research Center of Texas.
